Rock, Leaf, Stick – Online Reflection

Hey Readers!
Online Learning has been fun, but today is the last day of lockdown, meaning that on Wednesday (tomorrow), I’ll be back at school! This post is (hopefully) the last post from home, so this is a reflection of online learning. The task is to take a photo and say what ROCKS about your past week, habits you created that you hope will STICK and something you will LEAF behind. Here is my photo –

and here is what has ROCKED about this past week. What has rocked about this past week is not waking up at 6:00am in the morning! Since online learning started, I’ve been waking up at 8:00, which is usually the time I arrive at school! A habit I hope will STICK is my new habit of exercising more. I’ve been taking a few bike rides in lockdown, and I have really enjoyed them, so I hope that habit will STICK. Lastly, something I hope to LEAF behind, is being stuck at home! Online learning was pretty fun, but there is nothing I want more than to be back at school and to see all my teachers, classmates and friends in person again!

Thanks,

Zoe!

Euro Country 2021 – Spain

Hey Readers!

This year, my class is doing Euro Country 2021. The country I got was Spain so for this week’s blog challenge, I’m going to be telling you a little bit about it. Enjoy!

The capital of Spain is Madrid, which is located in the centre of Spain, home to 3 million people in the city itself, and due to its capacity, is the largest city in Spain. Not only is Spain home to many people, it’s also home to 2 amazing landmarks. The Great Mosque in Cordoba is a different landmark in Spain. The Great Mosque of Cordoba represents a unique artistic performance due to its size and the height of its ceilings. 2nd landmark is the Puerta de AlcalΓ‘, which was built by Francisco Sabatini and stands in Madrid. It translates to Door of AlcalΓ‘, but strangely, this amazingly unique structure today was not the original Door of AlcalΓ‘. A smaller version of the door was located closer to the city centre, and when a new king came into power, he decided a new door must be reconstructed. The bordering countries around Spain are Portugal and France. One thing Spain is known for is the cultural food and music! Spain has a very unique style of music and heaps of exotic inspired food, from Churros to Tortillas. Not only this but Spain also a type of music that can’t be recreated anywhere. When you think about music in Spain, Β Flamenco might be the first thing to come to mind. This different musical genre and dance style involves a puffy red and black dress with a red flower in their hair for women, and a black wide-brimmed hat and suit for men, but Flamenco doesn’t just involve fancy costumes, on the instrumental side of things, it is mostly known for its unmistakable guitar.

Here is a comparison of Australia and Spain using The True Size Of and below I’ve attached a picture of Spain’s flag.

Commenting Guidelines

Hi Readers!

We’re learning about how to comment on posts so were asked to rank them from the least helpful to the most. Here’s my response:

1- I think that the least helpful one is number 1, because it has bad grammar and punctuation, and uses slang while talking to an adult.

6- The 2nd least helpful one is number 6, because they are talking about irrelevant things and using slang.

4- Number 4 is really unhelpful because it’s not using the correct grammar or punctuation, they’re talking about irrelevant things, and using emojis and slang.

8- I think that number 8 is also unhelpful because they are talking about really irrelevant things which may or may not be their work, but the good thing is that Diane wants to hear other people’s opinions.

7- Number 7 is way too short, and doesn’t explain why the person likes the other person’s story and what part of the story they like.

3- I think number 3 is really good because Hannah’s acknowledging that she wanted to read the Giver because of Elliot. I also like how she saying it reminds her of the book ‘Checking Out’. So, if anyone else has read that book she’s recommending that if they liked it they should read The Giver.

5 & 2- I think 5 and 2 are equally as good as each other because both use great grammar and punctuation, don’t use slang, talk about relevant things and ask helpful questions.

Thank you, Zoe πŸ˜›
