Commenting Guidelines

Hi Readers!

We’re learning about how to comment on posts so were asked to rank them from the least helpful to the most. Here’s my response:

1- I think that the least helpful one is number 1, because it has bad grammar and punctuation, and uses slang while talking to an adult.

6- The 2nd least helpful one is number 6, because they are talking about irrelevant things and using slang.

4- Number 4 is really unhelpful because it’s not using the correct grammar or punctuation, they’re talking about irrelevant things, and using emojis and slang.

8- I think that number 8 is also unhelpful because they are talking about really irrelevant things which may or may not be their work, but the good thing is that Diane wants to hear other people’s opinions.

7- Number 7 is way too short, and doesn’t explain why the person likes the other person’s story and what part of the story they like.

3- I think number 3 is really good because Hannah’s acknowledging that she wanted to read the Giver because of Elliot. I also like how she saying it reminds her of the book ‘Checking Out’. So, if anyone else has read that book she’s recommending that if they liked it they should read The Giver.

5 & 2- I think 5 and 2 are equally as good as each other because both use great grammar and punctuation, don’t use slang, talk about relevant things and ask helpful questions.

Thank you, Zoe ๐Ÿ˜›

Writing Challenge- Using Connectives

Hi Readers! I’m going to be writing a story based on the pictures attached below. So enjoy!

A Winter to Remember

The lake’s frozen over, as a result of the chilly Winter’s day. As soon as I wake up, I squeal in delight because of the snow falling and wondering how long it is until all snow melts, until I realise what I’m missing out on! Well in that case…

I change as quickly as I can as my Family joins me on the ice. The whole suburb is on the lake whizzing with the people they know. I skate on the whole lake, and eventually, I keep skating while daydreaming about everything that comes to my mind, until I realise that I’ve skated away from my family and the suburb until I get to a clearing near the mountains. I gasp as there’s ice and branches on the lake scattered everywhere. I look up and see a small cottage, as a woman comes out. She look quite familiar, and so is the house. Haven’t I seen that in a picture before? I search my brain but it’s having a blank! Then she speaks. I know who this is. This woman. She’s is is my great grandma. The great great great great grandma who died nearly 50 years ago.

Hope you loved the story, Zoe๐Ÿ“–

Country of Focus- China

Hi Readers! This is a post all about China, so enjoy!

China is in Asia, which is the largest most populated continent in the world! It has 1.398 billion people living there now, meaning Beijing, which is the capital of China, has more tourists than the rest of China. Now you’re probably wondering ‘if China has that many people, then they’reย  bound to have lots of languages’, and they do, there are 302 languages spoken in China, but the official language is not Chinese it’s Mandarin!

Speaking of mandarins๐ŸŠ, how do you pay for them? Well, to pay for things you need to use Renminbi’s, so basically 20 Australian dollars ๐Ÿ’ต . Now, because I live in Australia, there must be at least one connection, so here it is: China also has very diverse plant ๐ŸŒฑ and animal ๐Ÿฆ’ species. You might want to hear something interesting so here’s some interesting facts about China:
  1. ย Can you imagine a world without toilet paper๐Ÿงป ? ย Well, we just have China to thank for this bare necessity, they practically (and literally) invented it!
  2. Ever heard of Chinese New Year? Well, if you have, you should know that there is red๐ŸŽˆย everywhereย wherever it is celebrated. Now, you’re most likely to be wondering, why red? Well, red is a colour symbolising happiness in China, so remember, if you’re ever at a Chinese funeral, Don’t Wear Red!๐Ÿ˜
China’s top 3 neighbouring countries are Afghanistan ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ซ India ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ and Nepal ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ต.
This has been really fun, and I might do another one, hope you loved it too, and that the emojis helped๐Ÿ˜,
